The 1,280x800-pixel resolution packed into a 7-inch display gives visuals like text and graphics a sharper look than what I'm typically used to seeing on most 7-inchers.

Before the first iPad made its debut we wondered how Apple would increase the size of the interface to make use of all the space on the screen.

N7II is best for screen and versatility!!!
Agreed that screen size is a personal choice and bigger is not always better. But it is certainly a factor in a lot of people's choice of a phone, and in line with the focus of the site, we wanted to highlight what the difference was and let the user decide. Just to be clear, screen size is not factored into our overall recommendation of one phone over another.
And screen size is not that relevant. It is a personal thing. Not necessary a Galaxy Mega is better than Galaxy S4 in screen size.
I see what you're saying about surface area and you raise a good point but we're highlighting the difference in the screen size, which is measured diagonally. We're just saying that 7.9 inches is a little more than 10% bigger than 7 inches.
Why 16 GB Nexus 7 vs. 32 GB Wifi + 3G iPad Mini?
Nope. The diagonal is 13% longer, the actual SIZE of the display is 35% larger.
For the first point, looks like an oversight Thomas. You can actually compare any size/connectivity you like. As to the screen size difference, I believe it's around 12-13% - we've rounded to keep the data simplified.
Why do you compare 16GB WIFI to 32GB WIFI/3G? Also, '7.9" vs 7" - More than 10% bigger screen'. Eh, no. This is not how math work. While this is technically correct, the screen is way larger than "10% more".
