Reviews Word on the street for the Toshiba Excite 7.7

In fact, nearly everything in our Excite 10 review holds true for the Excite 7.7: it's fast, very stable and the quality is top notch.

Budget tablets are expected to compromise performance and design to meet their bargain prices, but every year the standard for what's expected from a budget tablet increases.

Well, it does so-so with outdoor scenery shots, but still, its details are flat and color production is on the cooler side.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

And, thanks to the 1280x800 resolution on a such a small screen (191 PPI), everything is crisp and sharp.
by Android Police (Jul, 2012)
As ever with this screen type, colours are vivid, viewing angles excellent and contrast levels very good.
by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
Every color is vibrant, popping off of the display like nothing I've ever seen before on anything larger than the 4.65" display of my Galaxy Nexus.
by Android Police (Jul, 2012)

Rounding out features is a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel back camera.
by c|net (Jun, 2012)
The rear 5 megapixel camera delivers thoroughly average photos and video by tablet standards, and the LED flash does help when taking photos in dim to dark rooms.
by MobileTechReview (May, 2012)
As expected, the camera is about as basic as it gets – it doesn't even support any sort of manual or auto focus or have a flash.
by Android Police (Nov, 2013)

Operating System

It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful display that I've ever seen on an Android tablet.
by Android Police (Jul, 2012)
This is easily the best looking display I've ever seen on a tablet, bar none.
by Android Police (Jul, 2012)
For those looking for a straight Android tablet rather than a convertible netbook style tablet, we can easily recommend the Toshiba Excite 10.
by MobileTechReview (May, 2012)

While it sports overall sound design and fast performance that matches the aforementioned tablets, its one standout feature is the high, 128GB expandable storage option.
by c|net (May, 2012)
It has a gig of DDR3 RAM, and is available in 16, 32 and 64 gig storage capacities.
by MobileTechReview (May, 2012)
Whether having potentially monstrous levels of storage is worth the extra money is up to you.
by c|net (May, 2012)

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 beats the Samsung thanks to its faster quad core CPU and easier access to USB host features (it's hard to find Samsung's USB host dongle adapter in stores).
by MobileTechReview (Jul, 2012)
Even with its great display, most recent OS, and quad-core processor, you'll have to really ask yourself whether it's worth forking over $500 for a 7.7-inch device that has only 16GB of storage and no HDMI support.
by c|net (Jun, 2012)
Doubtless, consumers will read a review of one and confuse it with the other, or dismiss the quad core model as a dual core.
