With a good web connection pages render fairly quickly, and the responsive capacitive touchscreen makes whizzing around them a joy.

Reviews Word on the street for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Like the 7.0, it has solid but unspectacular specs (a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 1280 x 800 TFT display, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, dual cameras), plus Android 4.0, all for a very reasonable $399.99.

As you'd expect from the TI OMAP 4430 CPU, benchmarks are just better than half of those from quad core tablets.

Enriching browsing, Adobe Flash support is in, and the 7in form is a good size for reading web pages.

The 10.1-inch, 1280x800 screens provides a decent display for you to gorge on your favourite videos, images, games and social networks.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 4G LTE for Verizon is essentially the same tablet Samsung released earlier in 2012, only now with 4G LTE speed at its disposal.

What makes things even better, the camera app is rich in modes and settings – lots of the fancy stuff a Galaxy S4 can do with its camera, the Tab PRO 8.4 can do as well.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

The apps which Samsung has made mini versions for are; alarm, calculator, email, music player, S Planner, task manager and world clock.
by TechRadar (Dec, 2012)
Of course this is all well and good, but the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 isn't a one trick pony, it also handles music, photos and ebooks, so head to the next page to learn more.
by TechRadar (Dec, 2012)
The Mini Apps drawer for fast launch was missing from our prototype, but it was on the unit we played with at the MWC, so it's a fair bet it will be present in the final edition.
by PhoneArena (Mar, 2012)

The two speakers flanking the screen are strong enough for good volume output and don't overly distort the sound even when maxed out.
by PhoneArena (Mar, 2012)
With the results, they’re nothing pretty as the images appear simultaneously muddy and hazy – as details appear extremely soft in tone.
by PhoneArena (May, 2012)
For bright shots of distant landscapes, it's not bad, but it falls pretty flat on any shot more complex.
by The Verge (May, 2012)

Operating system

The 2GB of RAM present on board are definitely sufficient to ensure a smooth multitasking experience, although tablets with 3GB of RAM are already on the market.
by PhoneArena (Feb, 2014)
And Samsung has been beavering away at the Android update to Jelly Bean, meaning we're now seeing Android 4.1.1, which comes with a glut of new features on the interface front.
by TechRadar (Dec, 2012)
The mandatory image editing tools come built into the software, allowing us to crop or rotate the picture, as well as to add stickers or effects to it.
by PhoneArena (Feb, 2014)

Operating System

Rather than compete at the highest end with the iPad or the Transformer Prime, Samsung's aiming for a happy medium: all the features we've come to expect from an Android tablet, without necessarily top-notch performance or specs, for an appealing price.
by The Verge (May, 2012)
It's pleasing to see Ice Cream Sandwich is making it onto devices out of the box these days, even if Jelly Bean is just around the corner, and Samsung has done a good job of implementing Android 4.0 onto the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
by TechRadar (Dec, 2012)
That makes it hard for us to recommend the Tab 2 10.1 unless you're particularly fond of Samsung products and their Android software.
by MobileTechReview (May, 2012)

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 trades in its predecessor's 2-megapixel front camera for a VGA one, and while it retains a 3-megapixel rear camera, the LED support light has been excised.
by c|net (Aug, 2012)
As well as shunning the option of a flash, Samsung has decided not to include auto-focus, tap to focus or a digital zoom to the camera on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
by TechRadar (Dec, 2012)
On the back of the Tab you'll see a smooth white plastic back and a more impressive 3-megapixel camera with an integrated flash.
