We love the full size USB port that doesn't tie up the charging port, and battery life is solid.

Reviews Word on the street for the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

7.0
We're particularly impressed with handwriting recognition in Notes Mobile- this is a standard feature for Windows tablets but not for pen-toting Android tablets.

8.0
Its screen resolution is 1,366 x 768 pixels and it uses an IPS display, bringing the usual excellent viewing angles and solid colour reproduction we expect from a tablet.

7.0
We also enjoyed listening to music via the Music app while playing some Angry Birds or Cut the Rope.

7.8
The keyboard dock we tested has no additional ports or connections, but a non-keyboard dock is also available, offering three extra USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet jack, and full-size HDMI.

7.5
Camera: Brandishing an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera, which is undeniably above average amongst Windows 8 slates thus far, we’re quick to realize that there’s nothing impressive with the outcome.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Screen

Unfortunately, with its low contrast and brightness, it doesn’t particularly handle outdoor conditions too well with the sun bearing down on it.
by PhoneArena (Mar, 2013)
On the colors side, it’s a bit reserved with its tones, but we're happy that its viewing angles are good enough to maintain its clarity.
by PhoneArena (Mar, 2013)
The 10.1in 1,280x800, IPS display used here shows all the expected strengths including excellent viewing angles, subtle gradients and reasonably accurate.
by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)

Operating System

Our final conclusion is that this tablet is better than many other Android models, mostly because of the extra ports and the business apps, but the larger size and weight make it a runner-up to Apple and Samsung models.
by TechRadar (Oct, 2011)
Even with the low-power Atom processor, streaming HD video is no problem, and the Netflix app in the Windows 8 app store is a good example of an app that's well-optimized for this platform.
by c|net (Feb, 2013)
Throw in the fact that its construction is solid too, we can’t complain how everything meshes together seamlessly to make the ThinkPad Tablet 2 one of the more portable and solid Windows 8 slates out right now.
by PhoneArena (Mar, 2013)

Operating system

The system had just enough grunt for some light multitasking.
by TechRadar (Mar, 2013)
In addition to Documents To Go for word editing and productivity, Lenovo provides Notes Mobile for turning hand-written into machine text, and overall the combination of stylus and software do an admirable job, even with some of the worse handwriting in the office.
by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
The tablet is loaded with extra software.
by TechRadar (Oct, 2011)

Apps

As you'd expect, all of the Android apps are here as well, including a light app for editing movies you've taken with the built-in camera, the Google Music app for syncing music to the cloud, a built-in Maps app that includes turn-by-turn navigation, and Google email, web browser and calendar apps.
by TechRadar (Oct, 2011)
All Android games will play smoothly, though they won’t look as pretty as the enhanced titles for Tegra 3.
by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
In addition to the IT tools, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet includes an app called ArcSync that enables you to synchronise documents, music files, photos and videos to a website, then sync the same media to your phone and computer.
by TechRadar (Oct, 2011)

Ports

Its chunky profile and weight mean Lenovo’s executive ThinkPad Tablet isn’t for everyone, but its unique combination of class-leading connectivity, ruggedness, charging over USB, a pressure-sensitive stylus and keyboard folio accessory make it the most versatile option on the market.
by TrustedReviews (Mar, 2012)
We highly recommend it, though it will occupy the ThinkPad Tablet's lone full size USB port with USB host.
by MobileTechReview (Oct, 2011)
Lenovo includes a basic USB file transfer app with a bare bones UI, but you can use third party file managers with USB flash drives.
