Its silver aluminum build keeps it lightweight, but it's also attractive.

Reviews Word on the street for the Acer Iconia W4

7.4
Again, one of the two 64GB models features an Intel Core i3 Ivy Bridge processor, while the other runs on the faster i5 CPU.

6.0
High-end Ultrabooks packing an Ivy Bridge-based Intel Core i7 processor would produce a score of around 9,000 in Cinebench, which is ideal for heavy image editing, dealing with video and multi-tasking full Windows apps such as Photoshop and Microsoft Word.

What People Are Saying Give it to me straight

Screen

Considering how small the screen is, using the touch screen for basic cursor control isn't a viable option, and I can't emphasize enough just how much this missing feature kills the practical applications of this system.
by c|net (Jul, 2013)
The connection is secure enough, at least when the entire package is sitting on a solid surface such as a table, but the screen angle isn't adjustable when docked.
by c|net (Jul, 2013)
The Acer Iconia W4 gets a screen upgrade, Bay Trail goodness.
by c|net (Oct, 2013)

Operating System

This is iPad pricing without iPad performance, and for just a $100 more, you could get a more functional, albeit heavier, Windows 8 laptop.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)
The pin-sharp screen is a joy to use when in the new Windows 8 UI mode, and it's just as good for media consumption as work.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)
The Acer Iconia W700 features the full version of Windows 8, with all the same components you'd expect from an Ultrabook laptop.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)

Operating system

What's the point of paying for a full Windows 8 machine if it can hardly run any Windows programs?
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)
Prior to Windows 8, it had been several years since I'd seen a Windows touch-screen PC this small.
by c|net (Jul, 2013)
However, we have serious reservations about whether there's enough grunt here to future-proof the Acer W700 for all kinds of PC use, from graphics-heavy applications to multitasking large numbers of programs.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)

Battery

Competing with the 11.6-inch Asus Vivo Tab and Samsung Ativ Smart PC, the 10-inch Acer Iconia W510 is a ‘proper’ Windows 8 tablet/laptop hybrid that can run much of your legacy software, provides a multi-touch IPS screen, throws in a keyboard dock that also extends connectivity and battery life, and will last up to 18hrs on a charge according to Acer.
by TrustedReviews (Nov, 2012)
Using just the tablet still results in very respectable battery performance.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)
The tablet itself gets excellent battery life, and when coupled with the dock it gets even better.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)

Apps

It's great for browsing the web, with more of the web page displayed on screen, and for using apps and playing games, with jaw-dropping visuals.
by TechRadar (Feb, 2013)
Graphics are apparently handled by an HD 3650, meaning that even those 3D games the Atom chip can handle from the CPU perspective might not be very playable.
by TrustedReviews (Nov, 2012)
Text is readable enough head-on, using the Kindle or News apps, or looking at The New York Times' Web site, but video and photos wash out a bit.
